strategically located in the Southeast section of the state and is called the "Hub City".
This strategic location has allowed Hattiesburg to develop as the educational,
retail, and medical center for more than a quarter of a million people who live

Hattiesburg was founded in the late 1800's as a railroad junction
in the yellow pine forests of south Mississippi. By the turn of the century,
the small town of Hattiesburg had emerged as a bustling and vibrant "Hub City" for
an entire region. The Historic Downtown Association works

Excellent institutions of higher learning provide a strong educational and cultural support system for the community. The University of Southern Mississippi is a state institution with an enrollment in excess of 14,000 students. Click on the building and take a look.
